New World is an open world MMO PC game from Amazon Games.  Before you consider preordering this upcoming PC game, you should find out if your rig can run the title.

Why the New World Hype?

New World takes you to Aeturnum, a magical island where you battle for (or against) human, ghost and zombie, and angry earth elemental factions. However, all factions must contend with the Corrupted and the nigh-unstoppable Tempest force that are trying to consume the new and old worlds.

Instead of releasing a game with almost no fanfare behind it, Amazon Games spent a considerable amount of time creating a user base through extensive alpha and beta testing. People who preordered New World are currently enjoying the closed beta, and based on those beta impressions, Amazon Games may have something cooking with this MMO.

Where Can You Buy New World?

New World is available for preorder on Steam for $39.99, and will unlock on Aug. 31, 2021. If you preorder the game before Aug. 2, you can participate in the closed beta. Amazon Games also offers a $49.99 New World deluxe edition that includes the beta, a digital artbook, and cosmetic items, such as skins, emotes and pets.

How Can You Play New World?

New World lacks gamepad support—it's a MMO, after all. There’s no word from Amazon Games regarding virtual reality functionality, and it's probably unlikely given the genre. However, if VR is added to New World, this page will be updated to reflect the new minimum requirements.
